Caesary Review

I started playing Caesary online about 7 days ago. Caesary is a new strategic online game based on Ancient Iron age Roman expansion into Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The game is free to play and you may enhance your gaming experience by purchasing gold to get an edge or leg up on the competition.

A very large map and methods of selecting the general area you want to play in allows plenty of room for everyone wanting their own little piece of Caesary Heaven. The map is represented as it was by Rome in the early centuries before and after Christ. The different regions you can play in are called, Hispania, Carthage, Briton, Egypt, Italia, Parthia, Italia, Macedon, Gauls, Reich and last but not least, Asiana.

The goal of the game is to expand and build an empire by building your cities and creating massive armies to pillage and conquer your neighbours. The idea is to obtain resources from conquered tribute paying cities to supplement your own resource gathering thus allowing you to create higher level buildings and armies. Another goal is to recruit, train, and perfect the use of Heroes who lead your armies and troops into combat.
When you first start playing Caesary online, you find yourself the master of your first city, empty of all buildings but a Rectorate, farm, quarry, mine, and lumber yard. You are directed by a very friendly tutorial to start building cottages, and utility buildings that interact with each other in order to expand your city. You work on gaining levels by collecting resources through the jobs you create and committing to building improvements.

A friendly tutorial teaches you all you need to get started and a very large quest list ensures that you are stimulated, challenged and entertained at every step. Everything from gaining various rare items, to collecting captives, and expanding your cities. The rewards are well worth the effort.

Then, when you start growing a small army, you are sent on various errands to the wilderness to collect items known as aglets which offer an opportunity to expand your army through Captives, or captured armies. Captive armies and your own home grown armies are the basic elements of game play against other online gamers. The bigger the army, the bigger your piece of the pie…or olive tree, as it were.

Since Caesary online offers a direct and chaotic PvP type environment, you are provided with a New Gamers Protection period of 7 days in which you are allowed to expand your knowledge of the game and learn how to play before being set free to conquer the world. You may leave Beginner’s game protection at any time if you have the courage to. Various neutral game arenas allow you to expand your armies by collecting captive packs (free armies) by fighting other players in a regional setting. You also gain experience and loot by attacking other player’s cities. Having a league at your back with dozens of heroes and thousands of soldiers allows a very entertaining and swift expansion of your empire.

Leagues, known in other games as clans or guilds are present in Caesary and are the main source of game knowledge. It is encouraged to quickly join a league when you start playing Caesary Online as to make friends and long lasting allies who will support your early development and protect you should you require it. Leagues are expanded and improved upon by collective resource collection in which league size and level rise as more resources are donated.

Sesterces are the in game currency used to trade throughout the world. The currency is collected through taxes and bartered for with extra resources that maybe sold through the online market. Caesary Online also offers purchased gold that can be used to buy items such as production scrolls or scrolls to move around and gain armies.
